The Nautilus
Work: Wall design based on Willem Claesz Heda's "Still-life with Nautilus Cupa" around 1827.
Original Artist: Willem Claesz Heda (1593 - 1680) was a Dutch still life painter. Heda cultivated the still lifes with unusual painterly power, especially the meal still life, by composing his paintings from filled glasses, silver goblets, grapes, cut lemons and the like. He is next to Pieter Claesz as the main representative of the Monochrome Banketjes.
