Willem van de Velde the Younger (baptized December 18, 1633 in Leiden, † April 6, 1707 in Greenwich) was a Dutch painter, who is considered together with his father as the most important naval painter of the 17th century. Both the Dutch Navy and the British Navy have commissioned numerous works from the van de Velde family.
